The 3-day Uganda mountain gorilla trekking safari starts in Kampala and ends at Entebbe international airport in Uganda. It involves meeting eye to-eye with the magical mountain gorillas. This Uganda safari will take you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park to meet eye to-eye with the endangered mountain gorillas. Bwindi Impenetrable national park is famous for being home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. It is one of Uganda’s oldest as well as most biologically diverse rainforests, with over 25,000 years of history and almost 400 species of plants that form the huge impenetrable forest that is evergreen. It is home to approximately 400 mountain gorillas, 120 mammal species such as numerous primate species, and over 350 bird species, including 23 Albertine Rift endemics, and is the ancient home of the Batwa bush people. This is an ideal tour to fully enjoy nature, beautiful scenery, and numerous primate species, such as the miraculous mountain gorillas.
Pickup from Entebbe International Airport (or your hotel in Kampala/Entebbe).
8–10-hour journey through rural Uganda with stops at the Equator and local villages.
Arrive at your lodge near Bwindi. Briefing by your guide about the gorilla trek.
Transfer to the park headquarters for briefing by rangers.
2–6 hours (varies by gorilla family location) through dense forest with guides and trackers.
1 hour observing a wild gorilla family up close.
Return to the lodge. Optional: Visit Batwa Pygmy community or relax.
