Start early with a hearty breakfast before heading into Nyungwe Forest to track habituated wild chimpanzees. Along the way, encounter other primates like black-and-white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and golden monkeys, as well as a variety of forest bird species. After lunch, choose between colobus monkey tracking or an adventurous canopy walk. Enjoy dinner and overnight at your Day 1 accommodation.

Enjoy breakfast before transferring to the home of the mountain gorillas in Ruhengeri. You can opt for a scenic 4x4 safari vehicle journey or take a boat ride across Lake Kivu (additional cost). If traveling by boat, our vehicle will meet you at Gisenyi to continue the journey to Volcanoes National Park. Overnight at Le Bamboo Gorilla Lodge, Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, Virunga Lodge, Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge, or Hotel Muhabura

After breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla tracking. The trek lasts between 2 to 7 hours, depending on the gorillas' movements, with a 1-hour session to observe and photograph these gentle giants. In the evening, relax at your lodge or enjoy a community walk or cultural performance in nearby villages. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Embark on a second gorilla trek in Volcanoes National Park, visiting a different gorilla family. In the afternoon, enjoy a scenic nature walk to the stunning Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Choose between golden monkey tracking or a hike to the Dian Fossey tombs. Return by midday for lunch, then drive back to Kigali for last-minute shopping. Afterward, transfer to the airport for your scheduled departure flight.
